Getting started with SUDO

  1. Install SUDO Desk

    Download and open the Windows installer, then launch SUDO Desk. Connect your keyboard with a USB-C data cable.

  2. Sign in and activate

    Sign up or sign in and enter the activation code supplied with your device. SUDO Desk checks the connected keyboard, model and color.

  3. Open Codex

    Open Codex to get started, or hold the second stage of the approval key for 2 seconds from standby. Set the Codex app path in settings if automatic discovery fails.

  4. Keep it updated

    Check desktop and firmware versions in SUDO Desk settings. Keep the USB cable connected until a firmware update finishes.

Common questions

Device activation or voice quota reset?

A device activation code binds one SUDO to your account. After obtaining a voice quota reset code, redeem it in SUDO Desk. It restores the current period’s plan quota without extending the period, stacking credit or deleting usage history. A code is not consumed if your quota is already full.

Do I need another code on a new computer?

No. Install SUDO Desk, sign in to the same account and connect your activated keyboard. The first connection needs internet access to verify ownership.

Is the keyboard hardware locked?

No. SUDO Desk conversation, approval and voice functions require sign-in and activation of the connected device.

How do I use History and the menu?

Single-click the knob to enter History, then single-click to leave. Double-click to enter the menu and double-click there to return. Turn the knob to browse.

What happens if transcription fails?

Recognition retries automatically. Recordings that were not successfully delivered remain on your computer. Use Saved recordings in SUDO Desk to retry, copy recovered text or open the recording folder; delete a recording only when you no longer need it.

Can I adjust text and feedback?

SUDO Desk settings include screen text size, volume, vibration strength and an option to mute the boot sound.

Why is my device not responding?

Use a USB data cable, keep SUDO Desk running and check connection and activation status in the app. The standby screen prompts you to open SUDO Desk when it is not running.

How do I update firmware?

Check for firmware updates in SUDO Desk. The app selects a matching release and verifies the download. Keep power and USB connected until it finishes. Follow the retry instructions if an update fails; no disassembly is needed.

Is macOS supported?

The available desktop edition is Windows x64. The macOS app has not been released.
